employed multiple employees to perform a
series of CNC type drilling &
milling manufacturing tasks. The
precision and product variations lead to
increased breakage and inconsistencies.
With production analysis and ROI,
MotionFab helped the client on a
proposed solution with conceptual 3-D
models, development project plan &
scheduling.
Automation Solution:
CNC custom precision system with the
following:

Seven servo Axis with five pneumatic
axis of motion. This consisted of
two coordinate systems, X,Y,Z.

Two drilling ZAxis, One Bottom 3
positional Z0 Axis, One Drilling 3
positional pneumatic XAxis, Two
pneumatic Z Punching Tools, X/Z
Pneumatic Right Angle drilling Axis.

Two belt driven YAxis material
handling system to shuffle unlimited
raw stock through the processing via
pneumatic clamping tailored to a
suite of products.

Custom HMI, recipe driven and fully
dynamic for multiple CNC &

Installation & Continued Support:
MotionFab designed and fabricate the
above solution with the client fully
engaged and design reviews at each set
milestone. Design modeling provided and
frequent online web sessions for
interactive model reviews. Project
scheduling & budgeting also provided
through-out the design life cycle as
requested. Prototyping of high-risk
process sub components were developed to
minimise the end result risk. Upon
installation, the deliverables included:
Electrical & Pneumatic Schematics,
Mechanical Drawings, OEM Parts Listing
and Specs, Training, Recommended Spare
Parts Listing with Lead-Times, and
Owners & Operators Manual.
